Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Unlike our friends on the East Coast, Los Angeles residents can go bare-legged pretty much year-round. The ability to wear whatever you want, whenever you want is a huge SoCal living bonus. But when the temp dips below 50 degrees, tights are a nice option. And there's no shortage of places in this city to pick them up.

Faced with winter's unpredictable weather, we've assembled a list of seven shops that have your pins covered. There are the obvious resources, like American Apparel and its colorful selection, and semi-secret havens, like Beverly Hills Hosiery Downtown. We've tried to cover all the bases, from luxury to budget and from classic black to crazy patterns—but if we've missed your favorite store, do let us know in the comments.

Legs still cold? Check out our tights shopping guides from New York, Philly, Boston, Chicago and San Fran, not to mention Racked National's guide to warm legwear online.
