From Edgy to Traditional, Where to Shop for Engagement Rings in LA

View as Map

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Before you can start hiring planners, say yes to the dress, or even pencil in the big date, you'll have to (duh) get engaged first. Although tradition once dictated that popping the question required some sort of element of surprise, what better way to kick off the commitment process with your SO with old-fashioned retail therapy: shopping for engagement rings.

We've rounded up 10 jewelry shops in LA for getting your bridal bling squared away, allowing your soon-to-be-betrothed to focus on dreaming up your fairytale proposal. (FYI, a few of these boutiques can help out with that, too). From Platt Boutique's heirloom treasures, Brilliant Earth's sustainably-sourced stunners, Bey-faved bling at XIV Karats, and more, check out more stylish options up ahead.—Additional reporting by Ashley Tibbits
