Back in July, Unique LA's Sonja Rasula revealed to us that she was planning to launch a "co-work, office and event space" in DTLA's Arts District this fall. After spending over a year hunting for the perfect location, The Unique Space is slated to open in a 100-year-old, two-story, 18,000 square foot building at 1275 6th Street next month. Rasula needs your help completing renovations on what's set to become LA's premiere think tank for art stars, designers and overall game-changers.
"I'm really excited to be launching The Unique Space because it's a truly innovative, creative space for a community that has needed something like this for a long time," Rasula explains. "There is a whole segment of cool, leading-edge, successful designers and entrepreneurs in this city but there hasn't really been a home for them to work out of, collaborate, and socialize in. I have put a lot of effort into the interior design of the space, which features amazing elements such as Cavern wallpaper and furniture that I've designed that is being handmade in Los Angeles. And we've done things such as provide Linus bicycles for our co-work members and tenants to use during the day."
In addition to cool decor and bike rentals, Rasula tells us that additional member and tenant perks will include yoga, a communal kitchen with fresh-pressed juice and food, and rooftop happy hour cocktails. "My vision is to create a space that encourages growth and great business, while also putting attention on the importance of socializing and taking part in community and getting away from the computer regularly," she adds. "Unique LA was the shopping event that I wished existed and The Unique Space is the work environment that I've been wanting, and I can't wait to open in October."
