Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We're constantly getting outfit inspo from off-duty models, who always seem to totally nail basics like a classic white tee, perfectly distressed denim, and the coolest carryall. So when a professional poser who's style we totally admire designs one of these closet staples, she's already got our attention.
Enter LA cool girl — and Vision model — Lauren Hastings who recently teamed up with local bag brand John and Mary to co-create the quintessential bucket bag. The L.H. Monroe ($345), which is named for her mini-me daughter, is composed of buttery black leather and closes with ties off with chic tassels.
Hastings, who's also featured in John and Mary's lookbook tells us her goal was to create "an incredible easy light sexy handbag for moms and ladies alike," and adds that it's perfect for stashing all the necessities — plus a few extras you don't want to leave the house without. She explains, "This bag was created to make life easier when your have your hands full." Okay, we're sold.
