You've got to hand it to Kanye. Under his art direction guidance, Kim Kardashian West has gone from bright colors, big hair, and a boatload of bronzer, to the more minimalist, fashion-forward muse of designers like Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci and Balmain's Olivier Rousteing (among others).
The Wife of Pablo's new signature look is mostly monochromatic, and lately she's been showing up in head-to-toe sexy nude shades — even when that just means a latex bodysuit and matching corset in Fergie's new video. And other celebs are following, with Gwyneth Paltrow, Chrissy Teigen, and Gigi Hadid among those who have tried on the trend.
So how does one rock this hue without looking like they're in the buff? Take a page from the aforementioned style stars and opt for a shade that's slightly lighter or darker than your skin tone. And try pieces that are body con — like a Kim K-esque high-waisted pencil skirt — or silhouettes that float on the body and flash a bit of skin — like a plunging neck or high slit — to show the contrast of your own complexion.
We've selected a few celebrity-inspired nude looks for any skin tone to try (olive and chocolate skin looks stunning in creamy beige too). Since it's summer, we recommend keeping the style minimal, but if you're second-guessing how to do it, just Google your fave fashionista for tips. Think, WWKD?
