SaMo’s Montana Avenue Lands a Mall Brand’s First Standalone LA Shop

Given that retail therapy seekers prefer to shop en plein air these days, it’s no wonder that mall brands are looking to bust out on their own. We’re guessing that’s the case with J.Jill, which is opening its first standalone boutique on Santa Monica’s bustling-again Montana Avenue.

A tipster points out that the brand — best known for outfitting the contemporary woman (read: moms) — recently added the SaMo coordinates to its store listings page, which puts it next door to healthy eatery Kreation Kafe and across the way from Dermalogica.

It’ll be the brand’s fifth LA-area location; it’s just a short stroll from stylish nail salon Olive & June, which might be a good way to end your next mom date.
