Illustrator Tuesday Bassen may just be one of the hardest working women in LA. In addition to keeping up with the insane demand of her beloved pins and patches (she was way ahead of the curve on the streetwear trend), developing her very own clothing line (if her rad satin bomber is any indication of what's to come, we're in big time), keeping up with illustrative projects, and opening up her store Friend Mart later this summer, the founding member of the Mixed Emotions Club/Ugly Girl Gang managed to squeeze in time to collaborate on a capsule collection with quintessentially SoCal label Mowgli Surf.
The summer-perfect collection, which launched online today (available for purchase on both Bassen's e-commerce site and Mowgli's) consists of two tees, a tank, some sporty short-shorts, socks, and a killer bikini — all of which boast a 1970s West Coast vibe (very Fast Times at Ridgemont High, if you will). It's the perfect marriage of Mowgli's signature skater-chick silhouettes and Bassen's brand of punk-y artwork. And the price point of these made-in-LA pieces — from $12 tube socks to a $85 dress — makes them all totally accessible for even babes on a budget.
