Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
On August 11th, LA will receive yet another exciting fashion brand — and this one is sure to turn every girl into a straight-up style muse. LPA is the genius work of Lara Pia Arrobio, Reformation’s former style director (remember this photo shoot?) who now holds the title as LPA’s creative director.
Although the label’s Instagram is currently one big teaser, Pia has generously been sharing LPA’s journey on her personal account, which has been holding us all over until the official launch. Below are five reasons to join us in feeling LPA’s well-deserved hype.
THE AESTHETIC IS DOPE
We’re not sure if this image is for the lookbook, but we’re loving its merge of street and luxury. We also love that the model’s hair is undone, and no one is too concerned that the slip dress is a little wrinkled. That’s real life, making it more attainable and a perfect example of the — wait for it — "effortlessly cool" vibe that we’re never not going for.
MODELS ARE ALREADY FEELING IT
Major model Emily Ratajkowski is a superfan of the silk dress and matching neckscarf, and does a great demonstration of how it might look while you’re grooving to slow jams on the dancefloor.
IT HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR
Best wash care label, ever?
THE JEWELRY IS COOL, TOO!
We can’t wait to swap out our rusty hoop earrings for these bad boys.
THE FOUNDER IS A BABE
Pia just seems like a really cool chick that we would want to hang out with. She’s free to bring her pal Erin Wasson, too.
