If you just happened to realize that your holistic wellness routine was missing some gravity-defying, water-powered relaxation, here's another option for you. Pause Float Studio arrives in Culver City (right on the brink of Venice) today, bringing "womb-like" R&R via skin-temperature floating pools.

For $85 (or $75 for first-timers), stressed Angelenos can unwind and recharge in Pause's private soundproof pods infused with a blend of Epsom and imported Dead Sea salts, which allow the entire body to loosen and decompress as it floats weightlessly. This reportedly slows your brain waves, resulting in "a half-waking, half-dreaming Theta state, where meditation and regeneration are enhanced."

Typically done in complete darkness and silence, Pause's one-hour experience is also available with the option of ambient light and sound (should you prefer not to meditate too deeply.) There's also an exclusive suite with an open pool room, where floaters can enjoy a custom guided meditation.

As far as amenities, private showers, non-GMO bath products, and Turkish cotton bath and face towels will top off your luxurious relaxation sesh.

Pause is open daily from 9:30am to 9:30pm.
