Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
What FYF Fest lacks in peak supermodel and blogstar sightings, it makes up for the actual potential that you’ll see big-name music acts without blowing a paycheck or two. Our city’s own version of Coachella once again invades Exposition Park Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, which means you’ve got less than two months less to buy your tickets.
Although VIP and single-day tickets are already sold out, you can still scoop up two-day general admission passes for $199. That’s a small price to pay to see headliners like Kenrick Lamar, Tame Impala, LCD Soundsystem, and the legendary Grace Jones on one bill, plus a whole roster of KCRW-backed acts (like Beach House, Father John Misty, Grimes, and Blood Orange, to name just a few.)
There'll be plenty of retail therapy opportunities, too; although the vendor lineup has yet to be officially announced, expect to shop vinyl, vintage, and more. As far as your fest-ready look, you're on your own there — but you can check out last year's attendees for inspiration here, then buy your tickets online here.
