Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Back in 2014, we asked you to vote on which cult-favorite brand should open at DTLA's legendary Olympic Theatre, given that retailers taking over historic landmarks is the cool thing to do. While none of the suggested places made the cut, earlier this year we officially confirmed that equally buzzy brand Cos scored Olympic, and it was set to open in 2017. Good news: H&M's sister brand tells us that its third LA boutique — following Beverly Hills and Beverly Center — will actually debut at the West 8th Street building this fall!

"Cos is continually committed to maintaining and restoring the original aspects and individual features of its buildings and this ethos will be upheld with the restoration of the façade and iconic 'Olympic' sign," the brand explains in a release. Design details will include "raw steel hanging rails that run throughout the first floor and mezzanine, giving the impression of 'rooms'. The use of tactile materials in neutral tones, such as glass, concrete and wood, will be used to create a gallery like backdrop to highlight the clean-lines of the Cos collection exhibited across 5,511 square feet of sales area."

See Cos's promo art below, and stay tuned for more information.
