The annual Los Angeles Design Festival takes pride in being a source to spotlight local talent, and the event makes sure to include fashion among the creative fields recognized.
As she mentioned to us during our juice date last month, Jill Aiko Yee has been selected by the festival to host a special pop-up that not only gives the public an inside peek at the womenswear designer's appointment-only studio, but gives them the opportunity to shop from a cool list of more local labels.
The open studio and pop-up will take place this Saturday from 11am to 4pm in suite #1119 of the LA Apparel Mart in downtown's Fashion District. Besides offering the earthy-meets-utilitarian clothes Yee is known for creating, those who stop in can also peruse eco-friendly lingerie by Botanica Workshop, leather bags by Clau, minimalist womenswear by Echo and Air, whimsical pieces by Highlow Jewelry, and textiles by Rummage and Hollow.
Additionally, guests can participate in a workshop led by artist Anna Lian Tes (of Announcement LA), enjoy complimentary food, caffeinate with coffee by Shreebs, and sip cocktails via Sino Tequila. The event is free, but if you plan on coming, kindly RSVP here and let them know you're coming.
