Now that LA Live has scored a taste of fashion life via Made's shoppable LA debut, it's finally getting permanent retail therapy of its own. This summer, luxury designer boutique Brigade LA is relocating from the Historic Core to the buzzing Downtown entertainment hub, reports DTLA Rising blogger Brigham Yen.
Known as a trailblazer of DTLA's shopping scene, the shop is moving into a 6,000-square-foot space at the Courtyard Marriott and Residence Inn. Store owner Kuo Yang tells us he first opened his doors back in 2008 at 1010 Wilshire "to bring coveted ready-to-wear back to Downtown LA," then moved in 2011 to its current location next door to Bottega Louie on ShopWalk haunt 7th Street.
"7th Street was a solid home for Brigade LA, and we are committed to DTLA," Yang tells us. "But LA Live presents us with a unique opportunity to continue to serve our existing clientele, and also reach an expanding population of tourists, sports fans and business travelers we would have a harder time connecting with at our current location." He adds that "having both a street and hotel lobby entrance is a major plus," and the space is large enough to house his graphic design and visual communications company.
As far as merch, expect the same stellar mix of cult-favorite and avant-garde labels, like Vivienne Westwood, Saint James, Equipment, Clare V., Vince, and more. Yang adds that the store is set to open in mid-September; stay tuned for more.
