Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
First, Drybar made getting a killer blowout as easy and affordable as it was chic (yes, we'll take a mimosa while being pampered, thank you very much). Next thing we knew, we could get glam beauty treatments — once considered reserved for the rich and famous — like a makeover (Blushington), a facial (Facehaus), and eyelash extensions (Blinkbar) more accessibly than ever before.
Now Beverly Hills beauty lab Alchemy 43 is taking that concept a bit — er — further by offering services like "wrinkle relaxing" and facial filling and sculpting in a luxe, welcoming environment (as in, not a drab doctor's office) administered by certified, licensed professionals. In addition to plumping and smoothing your face with Botox, Juvederm, and other injectables, you can also hit up Alchemy 43 for "beauty boosts" like mini peels for your neck and decolette, or an oxygenating facial treatment.
To add to the list of pampering possibilities, the beauty bar also hosts private parties (potential bachelorette primping anyone?) and offers VIP packages. With so much incentive, we think Alchemy 43 might even make the needle-phobes face their fears.
