Thursday night Oscar de la Renta's already dreamy Melrose Place storefront transformed into a full-on bridal fantasy when when the iconic designer's 2017 bridal collection was the main attraction during an elegant preview event.

Hosted by former Vogue editor/current bridal stylist Cynthia Cook Smith and attended by an exclusive set of brides-to-be and avid fashion followers like newly engaged Hillary Kerr of WhoWhatWear and stylish socialite (and daughter of fashion icon C.Z. Guest) Cornelia Guest, the affair showcased the collection's unabashedly feminine and romantic gowns (sweetheart necklines, frothy tulle skirts, and floral lace abound). A violinist provided classical music to set the mood, and artist Carly Kuhn created live illustrations of the bridal styles.

Brides-to-be who haven't yet found their dream dress at any of the city's best spots to shop — and obvi aren't limited to a tight budget — should seriously consider splurging on one of the gorgeous gowns. After all, securing a stunning designer dress might get you a step closer to that magazine feature-worthy wedding. It's good to have goals.
