Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Obsessed with So You Think You Can Dance? Yup, we are too. If you've been moved to tears by the competitive dance show (guilty) and found yourself daydreaming of moving your own body as freely, confidently, and artfully as some of the contestants, you may be interested in one of LA's latest physical fitness classes.
Moved LA is a fun yet challenging (you will be sweating) movement class that was specifically designed for non-dancers. Its founder, Sarah Rodenhouse, is a classically-trained, former professional dancer and certified pilates instructor. She also happens to be one of the artistic directors of LA contemporary dance company MashUp, so she's an ideal candidate to lead attendees through a series of energizing, dance-inspired moves and exploring your body's creative potential — but in a non-threatening, non-judgemental setting.
Moved LA's first class debuted last week at AnnouncementLA and Rodenhouse already has two more pop-ups planned in the near future. Stay tuned to the site or follow along on Instagram to see where and when you can join the movement.
