Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In addition global retailers and runway shows making the move to Los Angeles, notable awards ceremonies are also heading west. The latest event to grace the best coast is Glamour, which is set to bring its annual Women of the Year event to our town on November 14.
Previously held in New York (Amy Schumer gave a "gross" and "inspiration" speech at the show last year) the event has been celebrating women's achievements for 25 years, and past honorees have included Lupita Nyong'o, Lady Gaga, and Reese Witherspoon. This year's event will feature a live-streamed, daytime summit where "young women can meet and hear from past and present honorees," as noted in the official release.
L'Oréal Paris is the title sponsor of the awards. Stay tuned for honorees and presenters—we're guessing a Kardashian or Jenner (or both!) will be involved.
