Celeb Hatmaker Gladys Tamez Millinery’s First Bespoke Atelier Is Here

Last year, we introduced you to Gladyz Tamez, a Mexican designer living in LA and single-handedly taking the global hat industry by storm. Superstar fans of Gladyz Tamez Millinery's unique creations include Beyonce, Kendall Jenner, Erin Wasson, Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga, and Future. While a visit to GTM's studio used to be an invite-only affair, the brand has just unveiled its flagship bespoke atelier in DTLA's Arts District.

GTM tells us that the 4,000-square-foot, by-appointment-only space features a showroom, hat design and production studios, and a bespoke lounge. If they have stock available, items can be purchased on the spot, otherwise everything custom is made to order. The experience is enhanced with contemporary art and modern furniture in partnership with art advisors, Esthella Provas Associates and the furniture design firm, Minotti," they add. "Currently, we have on view work by RETNA and Scot Heywood with a rotating selection by Murakami, Carl Andre, Francesca Gabbiani and others to follow."

Rapstar Future has already graced the conceptual space to collect more custom hats for his growing GTM arsenal. He'll be pleased to know that Gladys Tamez will soon unveil her very first men's collection called "Rezident" — a spy-themed range that will debut at the space — as well as "hat luggage and leather accessories," debuting next month.
