When we fantasize about achieving a perfectly effortless, feminine-but-relaxed style, the image that comes to mind is practically always wearing something by Heidi Merrick. Scrolling through the California designer's dreamy Instagram feed (stocked with beach pics, flow-y fabrics, and plenty cool-girl pieces), we're constantly getting FOMO from not hanging with the designer on the daily.
For those of you who sympathize with those feels, Merrick has a chic solution; her airy, inspiration-filled studio in DTLA's Fashion District is kicking off Retail Fridays, a series of inclusive shopping affairs. Beginning this week, the designer invites prospective patrons in from 1pm to 4pm for an intimate event that includes live music and refreshments. For the inaugural edition, attendees can sip Sapere Aude sparking rosé and listen to tunes by Justin Clay while they browse Merrick's gauzy gowns (we'll take this Talia dress, please and thank you), tiered skirts, and sequin bandeau bikinis. Told you she was cool.
