Pia Mia Perez, a 19-year-old singer born in Guam and based in LA, has been tapped by Madonna to become Material Girl's first-ever fashion director. Although the internet sensation (she was discovered on YouTube) certainly has a strong Instagram following of her own, she's best known for her hanging with Kylie Jenner and appearing on several episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
WWD reveals that Pia Mia's first ads as the face of Madonna's Macy's juniors line—a gig previously held by actress/singer Taylor Momsen (remember her?) and Kelly Osbourne—are set to roll out this July to align with back-to-school shopping. "The fact that Madonna chose me to do this literally makes me die," Perez tells the fashion trade publication.
In addition to helping elevate Material Girl by "lending both her fashion and social influence" to the brand, Pia Mia will also star in a "six-episode digital docu-series" about her life and role as Material Girl's fashion director. We're guessing that she'll also use the opportunity to promote her upcoming album on Interscope. She's a pretty fantastic singer, judging by the below Keek that Kim Kardashian shot at a casual family dinner with Kylie, Kanye, Drake, and friends.
