Guerilla Atelier Is Getting Ginormous New Digs in the Arts District

DTLA Rising

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It started with a modest little pop-up in the burgeoning Arts District in DTLA nearly three years ago. Then, it blossomed into perma-spot in the hood after the city's chic shoppers couldn't get enough of exclusive brands like Chris Gelinas, Tara Hischberg Jewelry, and Mister Freedom. And now, we can expect Guerilla Atelier to pack even more into a brand new, expanded flagship space when it takes over the former Matteo Home spot on bustling Third Street this June.

Carl Louisville's store/gallery will be enjoying a whopping 5000 square feet of terrain to showcase its expertly (we'd be remiss not to mention the store owner honed his skill as director of Prada in Beverly Hills) curated clothing and fine art. The new address is also set to include a shop-in-shop by Taschen Books.

Guerilla's new flagship will be in good company with cool, established neighbors like Poketo and Alchemy Works, plus Shinola's forthcoming spot. We'll keep you posted with more deets as they come.
