We're admittedly baffled that it took us so long to explore A List Sample Sale, the nomadic designer deals party-turned-store that arrived in Mid-City last year. Enticed by the promise of $65 denim, we swung by the Mid-City boutique and were quite pleased to be greeted with a treasure trove of high-end finds.
A List has been raiding the closets of celebrities (via their stylists) and ladies who lunch since 2002, and founder Caroline Bray's inventory proves she's damn good at it. The shop is tucked away on the second floor (suite #207) of an unassuming mixed-use plaza, where you'll find bags by Chanel, Hermès, and Gucci; and a shoe department stacked with luxe labels like Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, and Guiseppe Zanotti.
In clothing, there's dresses by Proenza Schouler and Prada, luxe leather jackets and vests by American Retro and Iro, tops by Raquel Allegra, and so much more; there's also a ton of pieces from Isabel Marant (apparently, one of their clients is a superfan of the cult-fave French designer).
Although A List's merch is shoppable online at Tradesy, prices are negotiable if you shop IRL—meaning you can score that black Chanel tote for under $2400. In fact, haggling (so long as you're nice about it) is encouraged, especially if you'll be buying a few items. It's worth noting that there's new inventory weekly and a convenient lot with free parking, which should make it easy to swing by often to peep fresh additions.
Oh, and as far as those jeanswear deals, there's a rack in the back offering a wide variety of sizes (25 to 30, with the largest selection in size 29) and brands, like Current/Elliot, J Brand, Koral, and Genetic to name a few. There's also a range of styles, from your standard skinnies and bell bottoms to lightly-distressed and destroyed.
Above, explore more inside the shop and swing by Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 6pm.
