Well, as the French would say, this is quite gauche. Following a tip on our NYC sister site, we discovered that Kiki de Montparnasse may have walked out on its Melrose Place boutique.
We paid a visit to the luxury lingerie label's shop yesterday and discovered some damning evidence of its alleged abandonment, as seen below. Apparently, the brand's rent has "been due and unpaid for eighty four consecutive days and the Lessor, PARK LANE ACQUISITIONS, LLC, believes you have abandoned the property."
Per the second posted notice dated yesterday, Kiki has until this Friday to pay up; otherwise, "the landlord will institute legal proceedings to recover rent and possession of said premises, costs, attorney's fees, and punitive damages as allowed by law." L'ouch.
We reached out to the brand's press email address and received a delivery failure bounceback message; calls to the store also went unanswered. Stay tuned for more.
