Here's yet another reason to promote pretty penmanship. Filling the indie shopping void left by Arroyo General (which was originally a two-month pop-up) is charming office supply shop Shorthand, which opened a few weeks ago on Highland Park's walkable York Boulevard.
Founded by cool husband-and-wife team behind Iron Curtain Press, the boutique and stationery printing studio offers everything for a well-dressed desk. On top of offering art prints and letterpress cards by the shopkeepers's own brand, expect to find memo pads from Rifle Paper Co., brass writing utensils by Germany's Kaweco, and more stationery and accessories from Japan, Europe, and the US.
Shorthand is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
