Sassy Skirts, Jumpsuits, More: Inside Vivian Chan's El Monte Sample Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Abbi and Ilana of Broad City are our spirit animals, especially during moments like this season's chaotic trip to a sample sale (we died). Since we know that struggle is way too real, we were especially psyched at the chance to head into LA designer Vivian Chan's El Monte headquarters to preview her epic sample sale just before the fashion-hungry masses tore into it like a pack of rabid wolves. Just kidding (we hope).

At press time (we sneaked in mere minutes before doors opened to the public), we can tell you that the sale, which features pieces from collections as recent as Holiday 2015, does in fact include a few racks of Chan's signature Rosie skirt, offered at the half-off price of $149. Other pieces are slashed as low as just $39. Also included in this ginormous sale is the fancy footwear of local designer Angela Scott, who has samples (size 7), irregulars, and one-offs between $50-$150.

The sale will be held Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Ready...set...shop!
