'80s Throwback Class at Barry's Bootcamp; California Fire Foundation's Annual Gala

We round up the week's coolest events so you don't have to.

Barry's Bootcamp

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

SHERMAN OAKS—Sweat it out at celeb-favorite fitness spot Barry's Bootcamp (14622 Ventura Boulevard) on Thursday morning to a motivational lineup of classic '80s pop (which always gets us moving). The #TBT themed class will burn calories while conjuring Madonna flashbacks, and all before noon. Be there slightly before the class starts at 11am, and you can sign up to reserve a spot here.

HOLLYWOOD—Raise a toast to a very good cause at the California Fire Foundation's 3rd Annual Gala, slated for 6-9:30pm tomorrow night at the Avalon Hollywood (1735 Vine Street) and organized to benefit firefighters and their families. The event will be emceed by stand-up sweetheart Natasha Leggero, with a comedic performance from funnyman Nate Bargatze and music by LA indie bands Saint Motel and Magnolia Memoir. Purchase tickets here, with lots of VIP add-ons.
