Earlier this year we previewed the forthcoming showroom for two spiritually inspired local jewelry designers, Androgyny Design and Communion. With a custom wall painting from heralded artist Evelyn Leigh of The Painted Line (check out our interview with her here) and an interior space designed by Of the Wolves's Lu Zsebe, the studio was shaping up to be a totally tranquil scene for designers Courtney Bensik, Joy Smith, and Carlie Matthews of Morgan Patricia Designs, who recently joined the two, to design their hand-forged collections and meet with clients for personal shopping and creating custom pieces.
When we first got the tip about the soon-to-open studio, Bensik told us that they also wanted to occasionally open up their space to the public for in-person viewing, shopping, and consulting, and it seems that time has finally arrived. This Saturday in Suite 307, the ladies are hosting an Open Studio from 10am to 1pm (which conveniently coincides with this weekend's A Current Affair in the nearby Fashion District) in which curious visitors can shop merchandise, meet the designers, get complimentary jewelry cleaning, and even sip champagne.
