Forget your grandma's yoga (props, by the way, if your grandma is cool enough to do yoga). A gang of Racked readers learned Thursday night, as we kicked off our Coachella Body Challenge, that Playlist Yoga puts an energetic—and might we add sweaty—twist on the traditional practice.
Our 60-minute session in the dimly-lit studio dove right into a challenging and fast-paced vinyasa flow while Beyonce, Bieber, and Ellie Goulding provided the soundtrack. Katie, our instructor, guided our breaths and kept our spirits high, often reminding the group not to be concerned with how we looked, but rather focus on having fun. Post savasana, the class toweled off and helped themselves to much deserved Barnana treats—with which we're now admittedly obsessed.
If the gallon of sweat we left behind was any indication of the considerable effort we put forth, then we're off to a pretty damn good start, which is good news because we've been mentally compiling a closet's worth of skin-baring festivalwear. Keep checking in with us for the scoop on where and when our next Body Challenge class will be and how you can join our #bodyparty.
