Perephone's Botanical Pop-Up Has Exotic Flora For Your Non-Traditional Valentines

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Don't get us wrong, roses, peonies, and ranunculus are cool, and we're always down to buy beautiful blooms, but if you're interested in finding your valentine (or yourself, for that matter) something a bit more out-of-the-box in terms of plant life, perhaps you should hit up We Came in Peace's botanical pop-up, Persephone's, located in #3016 of Hollywood's Eastown Apartments (6201 Hollywood Boulevard).

An artist collaborative that creates immersive environmental experience, We Came in Peace has teamed up with local ceramics superstar Ben Medansky (remember this rad pipe from our Holiday gift list?) to create exotic flora and vessel pairings priced between $150-$1200. Additional individual pieces by the ceramicist will be available to purchase, and you can also shop locally made chocolate by Compartes, curated literature (because reading is super sexy), h0les kaleidoscope glasses, home decor via Not for Sale, and perfectly minimal jewelry by Bing Bang. Think traditional Valentine's Day gift material with a decided twist.

Named for the Greek goddess of both vegetation and the underworld, this edgy take on a floral pop-up shop perfectly suits its moniker. Stop by daily from 10am-8pm now through February 15th.
