Fred Segal's Runway Playa Vista Boutique Will Be Massive

We called it: all the cool kids are moving to Playa Vista. Cult-favorite retailers are entering the mix, too, thanks to Silicon Beach 2.0's highly-anticipated mixed-use development, The Runway. The latest big-name brand to enter the mix is Sandow-owned Fred Segal, who is set to open a whopping 21,000-square-foot space.

Real estate firm CBRE tells us that they've just officially signed the project, revealing that the lease included financial backing from Evolution, Creative Artists Agency, and global private equity firm TPG. Clearly, this was a big-money deal.

No word yet on opening date or where Fred Segal will reside within the 217,000-square-foot shopping center, which already includes a Whole Foods market and will soon include The Studio (MDR) and YogaWorks.
