When Tracy Anderson personally invites you to work out with her, you drop everything and go. Just like our past experiences with the celebrity trainer known for sculpting diehard fan Gwyneth Paltrow's eternally toned physique, we knew we were in for both a treat and a challenge. Last night's class, a new dance-focused experience called TAva, did not disappoint.
Inspired by Anderson's time with original fly girl Jennifer Lopez in the gym, TAva is a fast-paced, high calorie burning dance party dreamed up by the trainer and legendary choreographer Tony Gonzalez. (Fun fact: Gonzalez casted Anderson in the 1994 film Blue Chips when she was just 17, so this is a full-circle moment for them.)
The 60-minute class, which will become a new cardio addition to TA's five studio locations starting on March 1st (don't forget that you can pay per class at Brentwood and Studio City now) definitely tested our coordination skills and left us a sweaty mess, but it was so damn fun. Watching Gonzalez charm the room with his serious Latin dancing skills and Anderson effortlessly hit every move that she admittedly was nervous about screwing up (this was their first-ever TAva class, mind you), was worth today's crazy-sore legs alone.
Are we J.Lo yet?
