MID-WILSHIRE—Keanu Reeves and LA-based artist Alexandra Grant will be at the Art Catalogues at LACMA (5905 Wilshire Boulevard) this Sunday from 4-6pm to discuss their latest collaboration, Shadows, a book that captures Reeves's shadows and silhouettes through Grant's brilliant photographs, along with adjoining text. In addition to reliving all your '90s movie fantasies, make sure to get your book signed at the reception. If you don't have the book, buy one by sending an email to artcatalogues@lacma.org or call (323) 857-6587, otherwise, the event is totally free and open to the public.
HOLLYWOOD—Celebrate the literary life in LA with the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and a mega lineup of celebs during the Young Literati Eighth Annual Toast. Curated by Shepard Fairey, Colin Hanks, and Busy Phillipps, the event will feature performances by awesome actors, comedians, and musicians, including Kenna, Andy Richter, and Jenny Slate with honorary hosts Mayor Eric Garcetti, Tig Notaro, and Stephanie Allynne, among others. You'll be treated to cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before the event program, with all funds going to support adult literacy services. The evening will be held at the Avalon (1735 Vine Street) and tickets can be purchased here.
