Finally: The Beverly Center Is Getting a 'Very Expensive' Facelift

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Given that The Grove and Westfield Century City continue to slay the outdoor shopping center game, and highly-anticipated projects like The Platform and Lido Marina Village are nearing completion, the extremely-outdated Beverly Center is finally coming to its senses.

After we first broke the news that the '80s-built behemoth was rumored to be in the process of confirming plans for a facelift, our sister site Curbed LA now has official confirmation that it's happening. Property owner Taubman Corporate's CEO says that "the center has been re-envisioned and is set to undergo a comprehensive renovation."

Taubman adds that details on the "very expensive project" will be unveiled on March 7th. Stay tuned for more!
