Day Space Night's New Line Caters to the Creative Working Woman

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We loved the artsy-cool collection by LA brand Day Space Night from our first glimpse of the funky, printed silk pieces. Then once we saw girl crush-worthy, brainy babes like Lena Dunham and Jenny Slate wearing the label, we knew its status as a coveted line was totally certified.

Now designers Kris Chau and Samantha Margherita have released a brand new workwear collection, offering some their original silhouettes in 100% linen for optimum ease and comfort. The new line was inspired by the fact that these two—along with many of Day Space Night's wearers—are creative working women and often looking for clothes that can function well, be versatile (throw on rad headwrap and bright lip and you're so ready for that gallery opening), and still let you look like a stylish, modern individual.

Though you'll have to wait a few more weeks to shop these pieces during a pop-up in their Chinatown studio (don't worry, we'll tell you more as it approaches), Day Space Night was kind enough to give us a first look at some of the easy-to-wear garments we can't wait to run around town wearing.
