Whether or not you've got a hot date for Valentine's Day, this Saturday—also known as Galentine's Day—is all about the platonic lady love, and spots around town are offering events to shop, sip, and pamper you and your girl squad.
Whether you and your bestie want to share some picture-perfect sweets or shop vintage denim, this roundup shows you some of the ways you can celebrate sisterhood, so grab your bestie/s and spend your Saturday showing the other love of your life how much she means to you.
One of our go-to gift shopping spots, Shout and About (1547 Echo Park Avenue) is celebrating gal pal love with a party from 10am-3pm. Artist Ann Shen will be doing cute, custom mini-portraits for $40 (or buy one of her other paintings for $30), Matchbox Kitchen will be selling Instagram-worthy mini cakes (which must be pre-ordered here), Iris and Daughter will bring along beautiful blooms, and Smilebooth will be on hand to document the day with photos.
Who says you need a romantic partner to enjoy lingerie? Diesel's brand new intimates collection is cute and comfortable and this Saturday from 12-7pm when the Santa Monica storefront (1340 Third Street) offers an activation for the line, you and your cohort can chomp down chocolate covered strawberries, sip mocktails, and even snag a red rose as you shop the cozy cotton jersey pieces—regardless if anyone else is ever gonna see them.
Are you and your bestie crazy cat ladies? Stop by Los Angeles County Store (4333 Sunset Boulevard) from 12-3pm when Silver Lake animal rescue organization Luxe Paws brings along some seriously precious cargo for a kitten mingle. In addition to meeting and greeting some kitties that need furr-ever homes, you can get complimentary gift wrapping (donations for the org will be graciously accepted), and shop a pop-up succulent sale.
No need for a boyfriend to rock a perfectly worn pair of boyfriend jeans. Our denim expert and vintage vendor Fair Season will be bringing plenty of those styles and more (yes she'll have some coveted 501's) during a trunk show at Myrtle (2213 Sunset Boulevard) from 1-5pm. Shop owner Whitney Bickers, who always knows how to throw a girlie bash, will also have some refreshments at the ready.
DEN Meditation
Perhaps you and your pals are in search of some serious zen vibes or are looking to deeply reflect on relationships (or lack thereof) this Saturday. If that's the case, Hancock Park's DEN Meditation Studio (360 S La Brea) is offering a 4pm "Alchemy of Relationships" workshop where attendees will learn tools to attract "the right people into your life" and better the connection of any current relationships. Reserve your spot for the $30 via the studio's app, which you can download here.
