CULVER CITY—Cult-favorite LA-based online art platform Tappan Collective (8840 Washington Boulevard), which offers an impressive selection of limited-edition pieces from local artists, unveils its first exhibition tomorrow. The group show, Spatially Speaking, is slated to feature work from five incredible artists, namely Heather Day, Cheryl Humphreys, Lola Rose Thompson, Lani Trock, and Satsuki Shibuya. The show is scheduled to run until March 19th, but make sure to hit up the opening reception tomorrow night from 7-9pm.
HISTORIC SOUTH CENTRAL—The Vintage Fashion Expo is back in LA at The Reef (1933 S Broadway) this weekend and coming up on thirty years of providing a jaw-dropping selection of vintage clothing, accessories, and jewelry in LA and SF. If you can peel yourself away from the retro treasures for just a little bit (but do not put down the Chanel bag), get burlesque icon Dita Von Teese to sign your copy of her book, Your Beauty Mark, and shop items from her personal clothing and accessories collection. The Expo is open on Saturday from 10:30am-6pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm, with tickets available here. General Admission is $12 a day online or $15 at the door, but to get first dibs, opt for the early buy weekend pass, which will run you $30 and get you in the door at 9am on Saturday.
BEVERLY HILLS—Just ahead of V-Day, you can unwind and seriously relax your tired muscles with someone you love at celeb-fave Hot 8 Yoga (8383 Wilshire Boulevard) this Saturday from 3-5pm. Instructor Julia Planine-Troiani leads a Valentine's Day Partner Workshop, which sounds like an awesome way to connect with your special someone this weekend. Let Julia take you and a partner through a series of interactive and cooperative yoga postures and breathing exercises, asking you to rely on each other for alignment and balance. Pretty romantic, don't you think? Preregister by the end of the day on Friday at $35 per individual or $55 per couple, or register on the day for $40 per individual and $64 per couple. If it's just you (Hot 8 will partner you up upon arrival), register online here, and if you've already got a +1 lined up, call the studio at 310-986-6420.
