SILVER LAKE—I Am She's breezy womenswear basics are made with deadstock fabrics—a massive byproduct of the fashion industry. What would otherwise end up in a landfill is repurposed into a brand new garment. And in addition to their eco-friendly manufacturing process, the local brand's founders have also partnered up with Saving Innocence, an organization that works to end sexual exploitation of children. Their latest collection "Inspire" will be sold with 15% of the proceeds donated to the cause. View their latest pieces in the line during Los Angeles County Store's (4333 W Sunset Boulevard) trunk show this Saturday. The shopping event takes place from 12-2pm.
FASHION DISTRICT—Romona Gonzales transforms into her musical alter ego Nite Jewel when she's performing her chill, electronic dance tunes. The LA-based artist, who had a song on the Greenburg soundtrack and has collabed with Dam-Funk and Droop-E, will be bringing her stylings to The Ace's (929 S Broadway) Upstairs Lounge on Sunday at 8pm. The free, 21+ event will also feature sets by Cole MGN and J Nadya as well as a pop-up from gender-flexible denim brand Worldwide 69.
