Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
HIGHLAND PARK—Vintage-loving bohemians make pilgrimages to Northeast LA spot Honeywood Vintage (5117 York Boulevard) for the well-stocked space's plethora of perfectly worn tees, hats, colorful blankets, and yes, flower child faved dresses. Since the boutique has a penchant for the latter, it makes a perfect location to host the very first sample sale by modern boho brand Gypsan (blogger/best-selling author Justina Blakeney is a fan). During the sale this Saturday from 11am-4pm, garments will go for as low as $5, up to 80% retail prices. The event will also be offering guests mimosas and tarot card readings courtesy of Vardo.
BEVERLY GROVE—Racked Fit Club favorite JJ Dancer is starting the new year off with a brand new schedule. The enviably toned teacher brings her heart-pumping, booty-shaking workout to 3rd Street Dance (8558 W 3rd Street) Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30am for a sunrise "Twerk Before Work" session. We know its hella early, but there's no better way to kickstart your day than with a high-intensity dance party taught by one of the best in town. JJ, who famous taught Jessica Alba her moves in Sin City 2, shares the full new schedule on her website here. Single classes are $20 but you can take advantage of special New Year's rates on packages now.
