COSTA MESA—OC-based sock line Stance (check out our previous feature on the streetwise brand's rad San Clemente studio here) has collabed with style star Rihanna and released a Star Wars-themed collection, so all-in-all its been a pretty dope year. As organized by Connecting Things, Stance's co-founder and VP of Creative Aaron Hennings is stopping by The Lab Antimall (2930 Bristol Street) this Wednesday morning to share the wealth of knowledge he's accumulated while building his on-the-rise brand. The free 8-9am informational chat will also feature coffee courtesy of Lord Windsor Roasters and snacks by Pie-Not and Kind. You'll get to learn all about the secrets to Stance's success, including how the company scored superstar investors like Will Smith and Jay-Z.

WEST HOLLYWOOD—LA's most stylish spot for scoping out the latest indie-folk acts, The Standard Hollywood's Cactus Lounge (8300 Sunset Boulevard) presents Clara-Nova (singer/songwriter Sydney Wayser's new musical moniker) and Americana outfit Frankie Boots and The County Line for this week's edition of Desert Nights, the hotel's weekly acoustic offering. Beginning at 7pm—when KCRW's DJ Valida starts things off by spinning a quick set—you can cozy into the chill spot's desert-chic setting and grab a drink or two while taking in the sweet sounds and scenes—the hotel's always packed with pretty people.
