Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If you plan on kicking off 2016 with an epic closet cleanout, know that your online consignment options are minus an LA fave. As of this year, Santa Monica-based luxury e-marketplace Shop Hers has joined Tradesy.
Per Tradesy, Shop Hers stopped selling mid-December of last year and the takeover took effect January 1st. Stylish founder Jaclyn Shanfeld first launched the "eBay meets Net-a-Porter" site in November 2012 and expanded the company's dreamy digs about a year later.
Tradesy offers free listings, but there's a 9% fee and an additional 2.9% "safe transfer" fee for sellers who prefer to cash out instead of taking store credit. Shop Hers members should have already received an email with deets on merging their accounts and credits.
