Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The upside of not setting resolutions is that there's no major upset when the mark is missed, and it seems that's the idea with Kinfolk's menswear shop/bar/bicycle boutique. Last February, the NYC-based lifestyle brand told us that its first LA outpost did "not have an expected completion date" but that it was "not impossible" for it to open in 2015, and its Downtown debut looks like it has been pushed back once again.
We're told that the 10,000-square-foot store is still happening and that construction is still hammering away, but the brand has "no comment" as far as an opening date. Kinfolk's West Coast flagship was originally set to open in the fall of 2014 at 9th and Broadway's Eastern Columbia building; we'll share updates as soon as we know more.
