Just as we suspected, Shinola is indeed plotting a West Coast expansion. The made-in-America brand confirms that it's opening its second and third LA stores in Venice and in DTLA Arts District, respectively, and that both are set to arrive this year.
Per the Detroit-based company, that Abbot Kinney boutique is set for an April debut, while the Downtown shop is expected to open in mid-summer. The brand's keeping mum on the exact coordinates for both locations; we noticed that The Stronghold has relocated to a smaller space next door to its old digs, so it's possible that Shinola is in fact taking over the adjacent store.
As for DTLA, we wouldn't be surprised if the brand's bikes and accessories roll into the area near 7th Street (where Kinfolk is headed) or the buzzing zone by 6th Street (where Wheelhouse's cool bike/coffee shop opens soon).
The bicycle and accessories lifestyle label is still seeking qualified applicants (could you be Shinola's next LA bike specialist?) to helm both outposts; check out their job listings right here.
