Here's your morning coffee: despite rumors that Cali-obsessed creative director Hedi Slimane is leaving Saint Laurent, what isn't hearsay is that the French fashion house is staging its fall 2016 collections in our very own LA next month. Hell. Freakin'. Yes.
After teasing the news on Instagram over the weekend, the luxury label took to Twitter to announce that it'll show its full men's collection and half of its women's collection at the Palladium in Hollywood on Wednesday, February 10th. Per a release, the show — which will precede the Grammy Awards — will continue locally-based Slimane's tribute to LA and its music scene, which he documented in a LACMA exhibit five years ago.
Although we don't see this major move legitimizing our mayor-approved fashion week (which takes place in March and October) anytime soon, YSL does join NY expats Wolk Morais and Tom Ford in spotlighting the City of Angels's fashion capital profile.
