Paris-raised, LA-based Nicolas Bru is known for dressing some of today's top music heavy-hitters, including Fergie and Daft Punk. He's also a go-to for red carpet regulars like Heidi Klum, Noomi Rapace, and Jada Pinkett Smith, which is why the handsome talent was on the edge of his seat during last night's Golden Globes arrivals. Here, Bru rounds up his five picks for best-dressed of the night, including the star he's calling fashion's next muse.
Who: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
Why: "This girl definitely turned heads last night in this red column gown from Dior. She looks glamorous, effortless, and daring in this bold red with cutouts. The Chopard diamond necklace was the perfect piece to bring the whole look to life. She was definitely a show-stopper last night!"
Who: Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture
Why: "This was one of the most controversial looks of the night. I love Cate for not being afraid to take a risk and bring a fashion moment to the red carpet. The pale pink is stunning on her, and she has the regal stature to pull this elaborate dress off. Her hair and makeup is exquisite. She looks like a true movie star."
Who: Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton
Why: "This was the most refreshing look at this year's Golden Globes. It’s effortless, simple, chic, and breaks away from conventional gowns we are used to seeing on the carpet. I love the juxtaposition of the delicate feminine fabric and suspenders in the back. She just established herself as the fashion world’s new darling."
Who: Jennifer Lopez in Giambatista Valli Haute Couture
Why: "Color. Color. Color. This is how you make a splash and turn heads on the red carpet. I am still mesmerized by Jennifer Lopez in Giambatista Valli Haute Couture and Harry Winston jewels. She is perfection in marigold yellow."
Who: Lady Gaga in custom Versace
Why: "She is channeling Old Hollywood Vamp Glamour. This is what I would expect Lady Gaga to wear to the Golden Globes. It’s classic, sophisticated, and fitted to perfection. With her Marilyn Monroe hair nod she looks like a silver screen goddess!"
