Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
CULVER CITY—Pointe Studio's #SanityNotVanity free workout series promotes fitness as a means of feeling strong and confident—not just to squeeze into a sample size. So far these events have had guests working their glutes by popping and tucking in a Cardio Barre class and sweating to Beyonce at Soul Cycle. Now the activewear sock brand offers a GROOV3 hip hop dance session this Tuesday at Beat Box LA (11828 Teale Street). The hour-long dance party—which features a live DJ—starts at 7pm and those who attend will also score a sweet goodie bag. A limited number of spots are being held for our Racked readers so RSVP right away to allie@pointe-studio.com.
SANTA MONICA—The newly redesigned Ambrose Hotel (1255 20th Street) already offers a Zen experience, but come Wednesday, the meditative vibes will get turned up even more with the next edition of the space's Yoga & Meditation Series. Mariah Kelleher Perkins (whose meditation app The Quiet Melon launches soon) guides guests through postures, movements, and mental exercises to stretch and strengthen the body and soothe the mind. Afterwards, you'll be able to reward your work with light bites and libations from Ziobaffa wines. The event lasts from 6-8pm and you can secure a spot by emailing emily@workshopcollective.com.
