Summer's Final WAVEY at Hotel Figueroa; Active Nation Day in SaMo; More!

We round up the week's coolest events so you don't have to.

Hotel Figueroa

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

DOWNTOWN—One of the saddest things about the beginning of fall is that it marks the end of Hotel Figueroa's (939 S Figueroa Street) epic WAVEY pool parties. This Sunday, stop for the Veranda Brunch between 10am to 2:30pm for bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys ($35/person) and stay for the season's final edition of the popular poolside bash ($10 with an RSVP). Thee Mike B plus a few super secret guests will handle the music, and the hotel keeps it fun with swan floaties, and flowing mojitos. You just need to bring the good vibes.

SANTA MONICA—This Sunday, activewear brand Lorna Jane is celebrating Active Nation Day, which aims to motivate the public to commit to a happier and healthier lifestyle. The full day of free, fit-friendly events at the Santa Monica Place's center plaza (395 Santa Monica Place) kicks off with a 30-minute High Intensity Interval Training workout (courtesy of Zuzka Light) at 10am, and also includes a yoga session with Arees Army, treats from Pressed Juicery, Zico, and KeVita, pampering from the likes of Blushington and Drybar, and of course plenty of available shopping with the retailer's latest styles on hand.

FASHION DISTRICT—Earlier in the week we gave you a bit of scoop on this weekend's vintage fashion extravaganza A Current Affair. The two-day event, hosted by Miley Cyrus' stylist Simone Harouche, will take place at the Cooper Design Center (860 S Los Angeles Street) and features curated pieces from the likes of local vintage vendors like Collection LA, Tavin, and Mixed Business among a gang of others. A full weekend pass will run you $28, or you can pay a general admission of $12 for a single day. Die hards might want to explore the option of early admission Saturday (10am) for $20. Regular hours are 12-6pm both Saturday and Sunday. Once you know your game plan, grab your tickets here ASAP.
