Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If your fall fitness goals involve yet another creative workout inspired by your favorite childhood activities, allow us to introduce you to Jumping Fitness. Founded in the Czech Republic and already a major hit throughout Europe, the trampoline-fueled routine is now invading America with its first US studio in Redondo Beach.
The 1,000-square-foot gym promises a workout that's "three times more effective than jogging [as a result of] constant gravitational changes, which involve more than 400 muscles being tightened and relaxed at the same time." Translation: expect 55 minutes of fast and slow jumps, aerobics, and sprints on specially-developed Profi trampolines, resulting in a core-strengthening, fat-melting workout designed to burn up to 1,000 calories. Intense, yo.
As far as pricing, single classes are $19 (first sesh is free), 5- to 20-class packages are $70 to $300, and unlimited memberships range from $100 to to $120 per month.
Curious? Check out what a workout looks like (epic Euro sweat party, anyone?) here or jump right in (sorry, had to) and book your bounce sesh on one of the studio's 18 trampolines here.
