Last summer, it was announced that the Hollywood Recreation Center was planning a major upgrade for its community pool, which will feature a '50s theme designed by Frank Webb Architects. After more than a year of anticipation, the Hollywood Pool is finally open for business, and it's as tricked-out as promised.

Our sister site Curbed LA has tons of photos of the space, noting that "the 9,575-square-foot pool now has a swirling slide, bleachers topped by shade structures, lifeguard chairs, and something called an 'integrated splash area,' according to a release for the reopening. Next to the pool, the sleek pool house is equipped with airy changing rooms and a bag-check, all under its Googie-esque roof."

A freakin' swirling slide! Take Hollywood Pool for a spin splash this weekend, and don't forget to dress the part in a '50s-inspired swimsuit.
