CicLAvia's Return to Venice This Sunday Won't Be a Shitshow Like Last Time

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Following the stressful congestion of CicLAvia's Venice Beach invasion back in April 2013, the organization is implemented a more organized route for this Sunday's ride.

LAObserved reveals that the route will be much shorter, adding that "instead of 15 miles from downtown, it's just six miles and starts at the Expo Line terminus in Culver City. The route then follows Washington Boulevard through the heart of Culver City. Riders only get up to Venice Boulevard at Centinela, then have a clean shot out to Venice Beach and back. The block of Venice Boulevard east of Centinela will be available too so that participants can get to the Mar Vista Farmers Market on Grand View Boulevard and the colony of bike shops around that corner."

Just an FYI in case you were planning a beach day or Westside shopping spree.
