WEST HOLLYWOOD—Every Wednesday night, The Standard Hotel Hollywood's (8300 Sunset Boulevard) cool Cactus Lounge becomes a destination for live acoustic sets by some of SoCal's best indie musical acts. Hosted by KCRW's Valida, this week's edition features a folk-filled line-up that starts with Jamie Drake at 7:30pm, followed by Tall Tales and the Silver Linings at 8:30pm, and Zach and Bridget at 9:30pm. Grab a few libations from the bar, and settle into this desert-chic space for a night of great tunes and chill vibes.
HISTORIC CORE—Last week we told you about the Ace Hotel's (933 S Broadway) Dear DTLA anti-advertising campaign, in which the hip locale offers up its billboard real estate to an artist each month as a space to make their own unique statement. The hotel will be ringing in the project with an event this Wednesday when the billboard's current artist Brian Roettinger stops by for a meet-and-greet and guests can admire the work, sip complimentary cocktails, and catch an acoustic performance from Jesse Boykins III from 7-10pm.
